Order Passeriformes is the largest order of birds. Passeriformes have more than 140 families and some 6,500 identified species.
Passerines are divided into three suborders: Passeri (oscines), Tyranni (suboscines) and Acanthisitti (New Zealand wrens – a small short-winged songbird found chiefly in the New World).
